Outcome and audience
For an Owner or Admin connecting an approved financial source.
Before you begin
The workspace and membership must be active, the provider must be eligible, and the plan must have source capacity. Pro permits two non-revoked sources; Enterprise has no source limit.
Where to go
Open Data sources, then choose Add Data Source. The chooser starts with no provider selected.
Complete the workflow
Keep the selected workspace, provider, period, currency, cost basis, and data-through date visible as you work.
- Select an eligible provider returned for the active workspace.
- Create the minimum provider-side billing-read access described in its guide.
- Enter connection details only in the PruneFox form.
- Run Test connection and verify the safe provider identity and source scope.
- Start the first cost sync and inspect its status and completed-through date.
Interpret the result
Connected means the bounded identity and source were accepted. It does not mean historical data is complete or every dimension is present.
Loading, empty, partial, and unavailable states
Loading preserves the current scope. Empty means no records match the authorized scope. Partial or stale data keeps its completed-through boundary visible. Unavailable or permission-denied states explain the missing prerequisite and never substitute zero or another provider.
Provider differences
File reports, exports, and organization cost APIs require different scopes and delivery schedules. Follow the exact provider guide.
Synthetic example
Illustrative example · synthetic data Example: Northstar Labs selects Microsoft Azure, verifies one billing scope, then waits for the first completed Cost Details period before analysis.
Common mistakes
Do not grant administrator or resource-mutation access, paste secrets into support, or assume a visible provider is enabled for the workspace.
